The short answer

Self-care bingo is a 5 by 5 card with a small self-care idea in each square and a free space in the middle. Do an idea, mark its square, and you have BINGO when five in a row, a column or a diagonal are done. It turns a list of ideas into a light game for a week or a month, alone or with a group.

How to play self-care bingo

  1. Pick a theme and shuffle. Everyday, Kids, Work or Winter, each with 30 or more ideas. New card draws a different 24 around the free center.
  2. Do a square, then mark it. Tap the square on your phone, or color it in on paper. The free center counts from the start.
  3. Get five in a line. A row, a column or a diagonal is a BINGO. Keep going for more lines or a blackout, all 24 squares.
  4. Set a time frame. A week for a quick game, a month for a gentle reset. Then print a fresh card.

Self-care bingo themes and ideas

ThemeGood forSample squares
EverydayYourself, friends, a book clubPhone-free hour, go for a 15-minute walk, write 3 good things, go to bed 30 minutes early
KidsFamilies and classroomsPlay outside, name a feeling, take 3 big belly breaths, make a card for someone
WorkTeams and wellness weeksLunch away from your desk, log off on time, walking meeting, thank a coworker
WinterDark months and the holidaysMorning daylight walk, make soup, read under a blanket, phone-free evening

For a group, print one card per person: each gets its own shuffle, so lines fill up at different times. A first line or a blackout can earn a small, shared reward, like picking the next team lunch spot. Teachers often run the kids card for a week before a break.

Bingo or a checklist?

Bingo is for variety: you try many small things over a few weeks. If you would rather repeat the same few ideas every day, the self-care checklist gives you a weekly menu with a tick for each day, and the self-care ideas guide has 75 more ideas sorted by time. Self-care helps with everyday stress, but it is not treatment: if you have felt low for two weeks or more, talk to a doctor, and in the US you can call or text 988 at any time.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play self-care bingo?

Mark a square each time you do what it says. Five in a row, a column or a diagonal is a BINGO; the free center counts for everyone. Keep going for a blackout, all 24 squares. There is no losing: a few squares a week is a good result.

How long should a self-care bingo card last?

A week if you want a quick game, a month if you want it to change a few habits. Most people get a first BINGO within one or two weeks. When a card is done or no longer fits, tap New card for a fresh shuffle.

Can I print different bingo cards for a group?

Yes. Choose how many cards to print, from 1 to 10. Each card gets its own shuffle of the same theme, one card per Letter or A4 page, so a class, a team or a family can play together.

Is there a self-care bingo for kids?

Yes. The Kids theme has 30 simple squares such as play outside, name a feeling, build with blocks and share a snack, with a free center that says You are awesome. Print it in the Pastel design and let children color squares in.

Can I change the squares?

Yes. Switch to Edit, tap a square and type your own idea. Your words stay on this card, in the print and in the phone image. Starting a new card or changing the theme clears your edits.

Do I need prizes for self-care bingo?

No. For groups, a small reward for a first line or a blackout keeps it fun, like choosing the next team lunch spot. On your own, the point is the squares themselves, so the reward can be another square you enjoy.

Where are my marks saved?

Only in this browser on this device, including your card, marks and edits. Nothing is sent to our server and there is no sign-up.
